পাণ্ডা

ভালুক-জাতীয় সাদা-কালো রঙের প্রাণী, যার চোখ, কান, বাহু এবং পা-এর চারিপাশে কালো রঙের ছোপ আছে৷ পাণ্ডা মধ্য-পশ্চিম এবং দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম চীনে পাওয়া যায়৷ অন্যান্য ভালুক জাতীয় প্রাণীদের খাদ্য থেকে এদের খাদ্য আলাদা, এরা শতকরা 99 ভাগ বাঁশ খায়৷

এদের ফুটফুটে এবং বুদ্ধিমান চেহারার জন্য সারা দুনিয়া পাণ্ডাকে পছন্দ করে৷

সর্বশেষ খবর জাপানের চিড়িয়াখানায় Xingxing নামে পাণ্ডাটি কৃত্রিম প্রজনন পরিকল্পনায় যাতে বীর্য দান করতে পারে সেই হেতু তাকে ওষুধ প্রয়োগ করা হয়েছিল, কিন্তু তার পরে সে মারা যায়৷
