A regional sea contained within the Philippines between the northern island of Luzon and the central island group the Visayan Islands. It is centered at about 122.5° E and 12.3° N and connected to the Visayan Sea to the southeast, the Samar Sea to the east, the Sulu Sea to the southwest via the Tablas Strait, and the South China Sea to the northwest via the Verde Island Passage. Geographical features of note include Sibuyan Island and Marinduque Island as well as the Ragay Gulf in the southeast arm of Luzon.
